WE HAVE RAIN

Sorry to shout but it started to rain last night before I went to bed and is continuing this morning. Nice steady rain which stands a chance of soaking into the soil, not running off. I need to check the beans at some point I know there will be some, also the courgette, missed one, its like a small marrow!!

I managed to stay up and watch a couple of programmes on TV last night, took the medication and apart from rousing a couple of times, slept through to half past sevenish, lay reading until 8.30 and then got up. Melon and toast for brekkie, have cut up some melon to take to OH.

He was moved last night whilst step son was there, thankfully the ward is closer to the car park, so I will not have to walk so far, I just have to make sure I have enough change for the machine.

It took me several goes to get through to the ward this morning, when I did the staff nurse could not understand the DB's surname is some peoples christian name.....eventually he cottoned on and went to find out. I was told he was sitting up in bed and had smiled at the staff nurse......had eaten his breakfast. I will see for myself later.

Managed to finish the last of the hands on the quilt, so can now put it together and put the borders on.

No idea what I am going to have for supper......will sort something out from the freezer, think there are several single portion of mince or pork in there.

Back later with an update

Afraid the news this afternoon ia not so good. DB passed out when the nurses tried to get him to the toilet. When I got there he was also having difficulty speaking, had pain in his chest, headache and dizzy. I got the staff nurse to see him she sent for the Dr. DB collapsed again when asked to bend forward so the Dr could listen to his chest......he was out for 5 minutes.....she has ordered another head scan, he can lift his arms but not his legs, can feel sensation on his legs. I stayed far longer than I intended to, but just had to come away I was heading for a £5 parking fine.

I am very worried about him right now............

  1. Sitting up smiling sounds good to me. Everything passes, remember that. It seems you've had your share just lately but things will get better.

  2. Sitting up and smiling sounds good - sometimes hard to do both in a hospital bed/situation. Hope you manage to get parked close to an entrance and can manage easily and not have to walk far - those corridors are often so long. It's not right that they charge for parking at a hospital!!!!!

Glad you have rain - I heard from a friend in Devon today and she said the heatwave has broken at long last thankfully. Enjoy your rain, know the garden will!

Hang in there and take care dear. Best to Edwin.

  3. Happy dancing about your lovely, gentle rain and the hours and hours it's been falling! Joy!

It's good to hear that DB seems to be doing well and it's a sure thing he'll enjoy that melon. How nice he's been moved to a ward that is closer to the car park. It's nuts to have to walk a mile between your car and your hospitalized loved one.

Well done on the SBS quilt, too!

    Hugs!

  9. The only good thing about the bad is that the doctor/nurse have witnessed what is happening when he gets sick or passes out. Hopefully they will do enough test to find the problem. Prayers!

I am sending you a 'virtual hug'. It's so difficult to see our partners in anything less than good health and so, so worrying. I'm sorry to read that DB isn't doing as well today but sending a prayer for a fast recovery. Please try not to stress too much.

  14. Oh, Anne,

I'm so very sorry that DB has had increasing problems but it shows how very smart you were to get him to hospital on Friday. Hope you can keep yourself from worrying too much as worry won't help. Prayers continue.

    Take care, my friend.

  18. A worrying time for you right now, your friends are thinking about both of you.

But don't worry about getting a £5 parking fine, spending time with your husband is worth much more than that. What's a £5 fine compared to extra time with him when he needs you to be there.

I hope there's better news for you tomorrow.

  22. Hope you get some more encouraging news and that you are able to get some support through all this worry, you have spent such a lot of your life looking after and caring for others , you’re a very special woman xxxx DB’s symptoms do sound a lot like those my dad had and his problem turned out to be an aortic aneurysm. . Love and prayers to you both xxxxxx Sue
