More fruit!!!

Its been a coolish morning, quite cloudy and about 10 degrees cooler than yesterday. Just as the last few days the sun is just breaking through at lunchtime.

We enjoyed our visit and tea at our friends yesterday, plenty of laughs, we gave R a lift, their motor van was in for its MOT at the local garage, so we dropped him to walk round the corner and pick it up.

This morning DB has been out picking fruit again......so far we have picked strawberries 16 lbs. Blackberries 5 lbs 9 ozs, Gooseberries 5 lbs 8 ozs, Rasps 6 lbs 8 ozs Rhubarb 12 lbs. A majority in the freezer.

The runner bean harvest looks like being a very small one, lots of flowers but very few beans developing, the french beans are doing a bit better,

The winter and summer onions have been harvested and also the garlic. There is a sack of new spuds in the shed. The carrots are starting to push out of the ground as are the beetroot.

I started today to blanket stitch the SBS blocks, I managed to match the purple ones quite well, however the pink was a different issue, I have decided to go with a lighter pink. The purple is done, I will have a go at the pink tomorrow, then it will be dark brown for the shoes.

Fish, chips and peas for supper tonight, there are rasps for dessert.

  2. So glad to hear your garden fruits and some of the veggies have done so well! You and DB will be enjoying their goodness for most, if not all, of the winter.

Well done in the progress you've made with the SBS blanket stitching. Hope you find thread in a shade of pink that pleases you.

It's hot here, DH has an upset tummy, and my low back is talking to me. Whinge, whinge!

    Hugs!
