I spent most of the morning trying to sort out DB's mobile phone, it took several phone calls before we sorted it.

DB planted the climbing rose for me, we tried to get the clematis out of its pot, a very large fail, will have to ask the gardener if he can do it......have dug the hole, just cannot get the thing out of the pot. Mind you it has been in the pot for 3 years.

It was decided to go into town straight after lunch, take back some stuff, get DB's new glasses and a small food shop at Morrison. What we really wanted we could not get. Kellogg's used to make a variety pack of cereal, 4 of those would have been ideal for our 2 nights on the road, no luck.

Getting DB sorted to go away is like getting ready for a route march, medication has to be counted out. I also have to take some of his vertigo medication 'just in case' medication pales into insignificance.

He wants to clean the inside of the car tomorrow, please pray it does not rain, or we will be going away in a filthy car.....he plans to wash it Saturday.

We have decided to live with the kitchen as it is until we hear from the council, I want to get the chap to come and help me sort out what units I want.......and I also need advice re the flooring, the vinyl we put down has not been really successful, we have several tears in it. I would really like a stone floor putting down but I can see problems with that. It will take several weeks for the floor to dry out, so its not going to be a quick job; nor is it going to be cheap.

Its a bright day but the strong breeze is keeping the temperature down quite a bit, in fact my feet are freezing.......

Sausage . mash and beans tonight, the freezers are beginning to look a bit bare. I bought some strawberries to have for dessert, there is just enough ice cream to have with them.

  1. I have to thank you for the efforts you've put in penning this blog.
I'm hoping to view the same high-grade content by you later on as
well. In fact, your creative writing abilities has
motivated me to get my very own blog now ;)

  2. Sounds like a lot of varied tasks were accomplished today so well done, you two!

I learned, in dealing with sweet AMIL, to take the whole bottle of each type pill when packing for a trip. No muss, no fuss, and if you run out of pills, there is the Rx number and doctor's name on the bottle.

Hope the council will be agreeable to all that needs doing - and your preferences - when putting the bungalow to rights.

It's a bright day here, too, but will be getting hot, nearly 90*F, with storms likely late this arvo.

  3. I haven't seen those variety packs of cereals for a while.

I'm wondering why you need to take your breakfast for those nights, I seem to remember you were staying in a guesthouse overnight?

I really don't like packing and always take clothes that don't get worn, then every time I resolve to take less next time.

    1. We are stopping in a Days Inn on the way down and back, at my age I prefer to break the journey. We are taking cornflakes with us for breakfast. The nights ib Cornwall are in a B & B.

Thank you for leaving your comment. I do read them all. I may choose not to publish them all however.
