The sun is a shining to welcome the day, with  a hey ho, come to the fair. Well forget the fair but we have have wall to wall sunshine. It was a very cold night, cars had well iced windscreens this morning. Not that I needed to go out.

My neighbours son seems to have found us new cleaners who are slightly more local. They are coming to see us this evening. Slightly more expensive but whats 50p between friends???

Loaf of bread on, also made a strawberry jelly for tonight with the last of the frozen strawberries from last summer. Fingers crossed we get a decent crop this year too.

Another day like today and I should be able to sort out the mess at the back of the bungalow and clean it up. It should have been sorted at the end of last year, but due to DB being ill it did not get done.. I hope the hose pipe is ok, it was left on the ground instead of being rolled up. I think it needs a new set of fittings, the sprayer did leak a bit, I ended up with wet trousers and shoes.

Fritatta tonight, will have to do it in the top oven, my combi micro is not back yet. Will do tomato and celery salad and fry the few new spuds left from last night in some butter.

  1. Please could you post your recipe for tomato and celery salad, do you serve it with any dressing ?

  2. What a delight to have a sunny day there! We have several inches of snow and it's still snowing - just like 3/12. Spring? Not so much here today.

Hope the new cleaners work out well in every respect.

I imagine your home smells wonderful with bread baking. Bliss!

May I ask what you and DB do about strawberry plant runners? Ta.

  3. Its amazing what a beautiful sun-shiney day does for our spirits. Enjoy your day!

  4. Wow that was strange. I just wrote an extremely long comment but after I clicked submit my comment didn't appear.
Grrrr... well I'm not writing all that over again. Anyway, just wanted to say great blog!

Thank you for leaving your comment. I do read them all. I may choose not to publish them all however.
