Lovely bright morning, just a bit of a breeze.

Better night last night. DB got up after breakfast, he has been in the garden for a bit, now back in bed. He did manage to stay up after supper last night.

I am rather concerned, he was a bit breathless when we got back from looking for George, will see how he goes, bearing in mind that he had a clot in his lung last year. We went in the car and found George at the allotment, he is coming round next week to see about the concrete.

Hey ho DB is on his way to hospital, had problems breathing and chest pain, took 3 hours for an ambulance to get here!!

I will phone later and see whats going on. They will not tell me much over the phone, but I am not going in to sit around for hours and then have to drive home in the dark, There is something going on and it needs sorting, we have been at this for 3 weeks now. Its time something was done.

Had supper all prepped, I will cook the meat and then freeze it. the fruit for dessert I will also cook and freeze.

  1. Hugs sweetheart hope you are both okay xxx

  2. So very sorry to hear that DB is still quite ill. Please make sure to take care of yourself during this difficult time.

  3. Hey ho. What a situation. Thinking of you and DB.X

  4. Oh, dear! So sorry to hear that DB needed transport to the hospital and that the ambulance was 3 hours in arriving. I do hope and pray the medical folks find out what is wrong with DB and that it can be quickly and easily fixed. AMIL suddenly had asthma when she was 78 so perhaps it's that? Hope DB mentions the headaches, too, as that could be part of the same problem.

Hope you're kept informed properly so you don't worry needlessly and so you don't have to drive after dark.

    Big hugs!

  5. I am sending thoughts and prayers your way for a speedy resolution to DB's health issues. This is not an easy time for you both and I sympathize. I hope you get some answers to your questions because you are correct - you guys have been having a difficult time this past few weeks. Hugs.

  6. I am asking in all honesty, why didn't you drive him to the nearest hospital?

In Canada, we drive our spouses, children to the emergency rooms. Ambulances cost $350 a trip. So we save them for collapses, severe bleeding or if we can't drive ourselves.

Three hours is a long time to wait. I was driven in by my husband when I was having chest pains and then triaged very quickly and was in and out in under six hours.

Hope he is on the mend. But perhaps it is time to consider he might need long term care due to his complex medical conditions.

  7. I hope the situation is resolved soon

  8. Hope Edwin makes a speedy recovery - take care yourself too xxx

  9. Sorry to hear it, hope there's some news of an improvement soon.

50 and counting, ambulances are free here, but still only intended for use in an emergency - chest pains and breathlessness in a gentleman of DBs age would be considered an emergency. The paramedics are able to administer treatment and run tests before arriving at hospital, and you'd normally expect one much sooner than three hours. I'm guessing that sweetblondieblueeyes didn't want to risk DB collapsing on the journey when she'd have been unable to help him and when the ambulance may not have been able to locate them.

  10. Prayers all is well...with you both. *hugs*
