Back

From our break away.......we booked for 7 nights, gave up this morning, its just not us any more.

I took our duvet and its a good job I did, the duvet on the bed just did not cut the mustard.

We had every sort of weather on the way home, rain, hail, snow and sleet.

Everything has been put away or is in the washing basket.

  2. Sorry your holiday didn't work out well. I'm a person who anticipates holidays more than she enjoys them and that's why we like our caravan. I'm not sure what to suggest as being helpful for you to enjoy a break but I think bad weather makes everything that bit worse. Take care and have a rest now that you are safely home. Catriona

  4. Don't blame you for coming home. With rain, hail, snow and sleet you may as well be in your own warm bungalow.

You clearly have a strong following when I look at your "Live Traffic Feed" - Lots of us miss you. Fingers crossed that you will feel like posting once again.

  5. That's a shame Anne but I bet the weather hasn't helped with being so cold - you might as well be nice and warm in your lovely home then somewhere you just don't feel comfortable at - take care xx

  6. Sorry the holiday wasn't up to scratch, Caravan holidays when not your own caravan can be a bit hit or miss in regards to bedding, beds utensils etc, and what you put up with when younger you havnt the tolerance to rough it when a bit older, maybe try a nice B&B or hotel for a long weekend break now and then? I hope you don't think I'm speaking out of turn, but you sound a bit depressed at the moment, maybe talking therapy would help,or some support in place. Take care!!

  9. No idea where you went that was so disappointing - it sounds from Jacqui's comments it was to a caravan. Still, put this down to life's experiences, girl, and chin up! And in the UK we do have very changeable weather, but we've grown up with this. Any holiday can be blighted by weather in the UK - that is, if we allow to be blighted. So it means taking clothes for warm/cold weather and clothes for dry/wet weather. Much depends on attitude, I think. If you'd laughed and said, "Let's go for a walk in the rain!" and splashed in the puddles like children, you might've found that the holiday wasn't so bad after all. Only joking about splashing in the puddles, but a lot depends on attitude, dear girl. As the song says, "Always look on the bright side of life, ta-da, ta-da-di-da-di-da!" I'm not saying be a Pollyanna, but you do sound just a teeny-weeny bit glum so get up right now and dance around the table, smile, make a cup of tea, cheer up, old thing! As I say to husband when we wake up each morning, "We're still here!" and that is better than the alternative. Well, it is for us!

  10. Am glad you two are back home in your delightful bungalow and beautiful garden.

It is a shame that the holiday site you booked was so very disappointing and I agree with Angela that you deserve a refund!

    Hugs!
